Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the world and as such, the cause, prevention and treatment of all cardiovascular disease remains a very active field in the research community. Cardiovascular Imaging is a primary therapeutic service area for Bioclinica, offering comprehensive centralized medical imaging services and support for the majority of all cardiovascular imaging (CVI) modalities leveraged to provide critical endpoint assessments in clinical research.

The corner stone to our service is Quality. There are many facets to incorporating imaging into a research protocol and is a road traveled for many years at Bioclinica. Our experience covers imaging modalities across a broad range of cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular therapeutics and devices. We have the physician expertise readily available to provide current clinical knowledge to deploy imaging strategies most appropriate for the study endpoints.

There is much more to imaging in clinical research than collecting scans and analyzing them. It includes many components for a successful outcome of quality data. A thoughtful and comprehensive imaging protocol, training across the study team, and an imaging charter with the appropriate analysis parameters are just some of the critical stops on the road to quality and timely delivery of imaging data.

Our experience covers many of the key cardiovascular disease states that inflict patients today such as heart failure, atherosclerosis, hypertension, valvular disease, cardiomyopathies and vascular disease. Published imaging guidelines and documented standard procedures are applied to trials investigating new treatments for these conditions across all CVI modalities for the consistent collection and processing of data to ensure integrity for your trial. Additionally, many non-cardiovascular diseases such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and muscular dystrophy leverage cardiovascular imaging to assess safety in the development of new therapies.

With 30+ years of experience in the conduct of imaging clinical trials, Bioclinica offers in-house expertise as well as a network of academic and research Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) who readily conduct image review, quality assessment and imaging charter support. Our KOLs are well recognized for their cardiovascular expertise and act as additional resources as you plan your cardiovascular drug programs.
